Turn on the Canon Pixma printer
Open the front cover or top cover
Wait for the ink carrier to move to the replacement position
Press down on the empty ink cartridge to release it
Remove the old cartridge
Unpack the new cartridge
Remove the protective tape or orange cap
Insert the new cartridge into the correct slot
Push it in until it clicks into place
Close the cover
Wait for the printer to initialize
Print a test page if needed
