Blot up any wet polish immediately with a paper towel; do not rub
Scrape off any dried excess gently with a dull knife or spoon
Test acetone or nail polish remover on a hidden carpet area first
Dab a small amount of acetone or non-acetone remover onto a clean cloth
Blot the stain from the outside toward the center
Replace the cloth as it picks up polish
Repeat until the stain lifts
Blot with cold water to remove residue
Apply a small amount of mild dish soap mixed with water
Blot again with a clean damp cloth
Dry the area with a clean towel
Sprinkle baking soda on the spot after it dries to help absorb odor
Vacuum the area once fully dry
