How To Cook Ham?

Choose the ham type: fully cooked, partially cooked, or raw (uncooked)

For fully cooked ham: preheat oven to 325°F (160°C)

For partially cooked or raw ham: preheat oven to 325°F (160°C)

Remove packaging and any plastic wrap

If ham has a glaze packet, set it aside

Place ham cut-side down in a roasting pan

Add a small amount of water or broth to the bottom of the pan (optional)

Cover loosely with foil for even heating

Calculate time (fully cooked): heat about 10–14 minutes per pound until warmed through

Calculate time (partially cooked): heat about 15–18 minutes per pound until heated through

Calculate time (raw): roast about 20–25 minutes per pound until done

Check temperature with a meat thermometer

Target temperature (fully cooked): 140°F (60°C) in the thickest part

Target temperature (partially cooked): 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part

Target temperature (raw): 160°F (71°C) in the thickest part

For best results, apply glaze during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking

Remove foil during the last 10–15 minutes to help glaze set (optional)

Rest ham 10–20 minutes before slicing

Slice and serve
