How To Reset ASUS Notebook Laptop?

Back up your important files

Unplug all external devices (USB drives, printers, docks)

Plug the power adapter in (keep the laptop connected to power)

Soft reset (restart)

Hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds

Release the button

Turn the laptop back on

Reset using Windows Settings

Open Settings

Go to System

Select Recovery

Under Reset this PC, choose Reset PC

Choose Keep my files or Remove everything

Select Local reinstall or Cloud download (if available)

Click Next

Click Reset

Follow on-screen prompts to complete setup

Reset using Advanced Startup (if Windows won’t boot)

Power off the laptop

Turn it on, and when you see the ASUS/Windows logo, hold the Power button to force shutdown

Repeat 2–3 times until “Preparing Automatic Repair” appears

Select Troubleshoot

Select Reset this PC

Choose Keep my files or Remove everything

Choose Local reinstall or Cloud download (if available)

Click Reset

Follow on-screen prompts

ASUS factory reset (ASUS Recovery / F9, if supported)

Power off the laptop

Turn it on and immediately press F9 repeatedly (or follow the on-screen recovery prompt)

Select Recovery/Factory Reset

Choose the reset option you want

Confirm and follow prompts to complete the reset

After reset

Set your region, keyboard, and language

Sign in with your Microsoft account (if prompted)

Reinstall apps and restore your backed-up files

Install Windows updates

Install ASUS drivers/utilities from MyASUS or your model’s support page
