If you know the current password, sign in to Windows and change it in Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options
If you use a Microsoft account, reset it at account.live.com/password/reset
If you use a local account, use the password reset disk if you created one
If you use security questions on Windows, select Reset password on the sign-in screen and answer the questions
If another administrator account exists on the laptop, sign in there and change the password for your account
If you cannot access Windows, restart the HP laptop and open recovery or troubleshooting options
Use HP Recovery or Windows Recovery to reset or reinstall Windows if necessary
If BitLocker is enabled, have the recovery key ready before making changes
If the laptop is managed by work or school, contact the administrator or IT support
If none of the above works, contact HP Support or a qualified technician
