Sand the table evenly
Wipe away all dust
Apply wood conditioner if using softwood
Stir the stain well
Test the stain on a hidden area
Apply the stain with a cloth, brush, or pad
Wipe off excess stain after a few minutes
Let the stain dry completely
Apply a second coat if a darker color is desired
Let the final stain coat dry fully
Apply a clear protective finish
Let the finish cure before use
