Check the Archived chats folder
Check the Message Requests folder
Check the Spam folder
Search the conversation by name or keyword
Ask the other person to resend the messages
Download your Facebook information from Settings
Review the downloaded data for Messenger messages
Check linked devices where the chat may still be open
Restore from a phone backup if one exists
Use Messenger on another logged-in device
Contact Meta Support if the messages were deleted by mistake
