Open the Messages app
Tap the conversation you want to view
Use the search bar in Messages to find a contact, keyword, or phrase
Swipe down on the Messages list to reveal the search field if needed
Check the Recently Deleted folder in Messages if the text was deleted recently
Go to Edit or Filters in Messages, then tap Recently Deleted
Recover the message or conversation if it is available
Restore your iPhone from an iCloud backup if the messages were backed up
Restore your iPhone from a computer backup if available
Check other Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID
Turn on Messages in iCloud to sync messages across devices
Contact your carrier if you need records of SMS messages
Use a third-party recovery tool only if you trust the source and understand the risks
