Treat all pets with a veterinarian-recommended flea control product
Wash pet bedding, blankets, and washable fabrics in hot water
Dry bedding and fabrics on high heat
Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstery, baseboards, and cracks thoroughly
Empty the vacuum canister or dispose of the vacuum bag immediately after use
Repeat vacuuming daily for at least two weeks
Mop hard floors and clean pet resting areas regularly
Use a flea spray or household flea treatment labeled for indoor use
Apply flea treatment to carpets, furniture, and pet areas as directed
Wash and treat pet collars, toys, and carriers if appropriate
Seal and clean cracks, crevices, and hidden areas where fleas may hide
Trim outdoor grass and remove yard debris near entry points
Limit pets’ access to untreated outdoor areas
Continue flea prevention on pets year-round
Recheck the home and pets for signs of fleas after treatment
Contact a pest control professional if the infestation is severe or persistent
