On Windows, press Windows + G to open Xbox Game Bar
Click the Record button or press Windows + Alt + R to start recording
Press Windows + Alt + R again to stop recording
Find recordings in the Videos > Captures folder
On Mac, press Shift + Command + 5
Select Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion
Click Record to start
Click the Stop button in the menu bar to finish
Find recordings on the desktop by default
On Chromebooks, press Shift + Ctrl + Show windows
Select Screen record from the toolbar
Choose full screen, partial screen, or window
Click Record to start
Click Stop in the shelf to finish
Use built-in screen recording tools if available on your laptop
Install third-party screen recording software if built-in tools are not available
Open the screen recorder app and choose the recording area
Turn microphone audio on or off if needed
Start recording and save the file when finished
