Sand the wood surface smooth
Remove all dust with a vacuum or tack cloth
Choose a sealer suitable for the wood and intended use
Stir the sealer thoroughly
Apply a thin, even coat with a brush, roller, or cloth
Let the coat dry completely
Lightly sand between coats if needed
Remove dust again before recoating
Apply additional coats as needed
Let the final coat cure fully before use
