Place the table on a level floor
Assemble the frame and legs if needed
Tighten all bolts and fasteners
Install the slate sections on the frame
Level the slate with shims or adjustable supports
Seal slate seams with wax or filler
Stretch and staple the felt smoothly over the slate
Trim excess felt from the pockets and rails
Attach the rails to the table
Install the pocket liners or drop pockets
Check the table level again
Roll balls across the surface to test for smooth play
Make final adjustments as needed
