Use a TV or monitor that supports 144Hz
Connect the Xbox Series X with a high-speed HDMI 2.1 cable
Plug the cable into the display’s HDMI 2.1 or 144Hz-capable port
Turn on the Xbox Series X and the display
Open Settings
Go to General
Select TV & display options
Set Resolution to the highest supported option
Set Refresh rate to 120Hz
If your display supports 144Hz through Xbox-compatible modes, enable it in the display’s settings
Go to Video modes
Enable Allow variable refresh rate if supported
Enable Allow auto low-latency mode if supported
Enable Allow 4K if desired and supported
Enable Allow HDR10 if supported
Open the display’s on-screen menu
Enable Game Mode or low-latency mode
Set the display input to HDMI 2.1 or enhanced mode
Update the Xbox system software
Update the TV or monitor firmware
Update the game’s graphics settings to prioritize performance
Use games that support 120fps or higher
Check the display’s supported refresh rate in the Xbox 4K TV details screen
Restart the Xbox and display after changing settings
