Bring the needle up through the fabric at the knot point
Hold the working thread taut with your non-dominant hand
Wrap the thread around the needle 1 to 3 times
Keep the wraps snug and close to the fabric
Insert the needle back into the fabric very close to the exit point
Hold the wraps in place as you pull the needle through
Pull the thread to the back to form the knot
Repeat for additional French knots
