Bring the needle up through the fabric at the desired point
Hold the thread taut with your non-dominant hand
Wrap the thread around the needle 1 to 3 times
Keep the wraps snug and close to the fabric
Insert the needle back into the fabric very close to the original exit point
Hold the thread firmly while pulling the needle through
Pull the thread through slowly to form a tight knot
Repeat for additional French knots as needed
