Park the car outside the garage with the ignition on or in accessory mode
Locate the HomeLink, Car2U, or built-in garage door buttons in the car
Clear old programming if needed by holding the two outer buttons until the indicator light flashes
Press and hold the desired button in the car
While holding it, press and hold the garage door opener remote button near the car’s button
Wait until the car’s indicator light changes or flashes to confirm pairing
Release both buttons
Press the programmed car button to test the garage door
If the door uses a rolling code, press the Learn, Smart, or Program button on the garage door opener motor
Within 30 seconds, return to the car and press the programmed button for 2 seconds, then release
Repeat the press-and-release step up to three times if needed
Test the button again to confirm the door opens and closes
Repeat the process for additional garage doors if needed
