Check that your garage door opener and car both support built-in remote programming
Park the car outside the garage with the ignition on
Locate the car’s HomeLink or built-in garage door buttons
Clear old programming if needed by holding the two outer buttons until the indicator light changes
Hold the handheld garage door remote close to the car’s programming buttons
Press and hold the desired button in the car and the remote button at the same time until the indicator light flashes
If required, press the “Learn” or “Smart” button on the garage door opener motor unit
Return to the car within 30 seconds and press the programmed car button for a few seconds
Repeat the last step if the door does not respond
Test the button to confirm the garage door opens and closes
Reprogram or repeat the steps if the opener uses a rolling code system and does not connect on the first try
