Park the car outside the garage with the ignition on
Locate the car’s HomeLink or built-in garage door buttons
Clear old programming if needed by holding the two outer buttons until the indicator light changes
Hold the garage door remote close to the car’s HomeLink buttons
Press and hold the desired HomeLink button and the remote button at the same time
Wait until the HomeLink indicator light changes from slow to fast flashing or turns solid
Release both buttons
Press the programmed HomeLink button to test the door
If required, press the “Learn” or “Smart” button on the garage door opener motor unit
Within 30 seconds, return to the car and press the programmed HomeLink button for 2 seconds, then release
Repeat the button press if the opener does not respond
Test the garage door again to confirm programming is complete
