Trim the stem ends
Remove any wilted outer leaves
Rinse and dry the Brussels sprouts
Cut each sprout in half lengthwise
Place the flat side down on the cutting board
Slice thinly crosswise with a sharp knife
Use a mandoline for very thin shreds
Use the shredding attachment on a food processor
Use the large holes of a box grater for coarse shreds
Separate any clumps with your fingers
