Endorse the back of the cheque with your signature
Write your name exactly as it appears on the cheque if required by the bank
Add “For Deposit Only” if depositing into your own account
Add the account number if your bank requires it
Sign in the designated endorsement area
Use the same signature you use for banking records
Do not sign the cheque until you are ready to hand it over or deposit it
Confirm the recipient or bank accepts the type of endorsement you are using
