Use fresh tomato seeds
Fill a small tray or pot with seed-starting mix
Moisten the mix evenly
Sow seeds about 1/4 inch deep
Cover lightly with soil
Keep the soil warm, around 70–80°F
Keep the soil consistently moist, not soggy
Cover the tray with a clear lid or plastic wrap to hold humidity
Place in a bright location or under grow lights
Remove the cover after sprouting
Thin seedlings if they grow too close together
Transplant when seedlings have true leaves and are sturdy enough
