Choose two or three sturdy stakes
Place the stakes outside the root ball area
Drive the stakes into the ground firmly
Position the tree upright
Use soft, flexible ties to secure the trunk to the stakes
Attach ties low on the trunk, leaving room for movement
Avoid tying too tightly
Check that the tree can still sway slightly
Remove or loosen stakes after the tree is established
Inspect ties regularly and adjust as needed
