How to Start a Gas Fireplace?

Read the fireplace’s manufacturer instructions first

Make sure the gas supply is turned on

Check that the pilot light is lit if your model uses one

Open the fireplace access panel if needed

Turn the control knob to the pilot setting

Press and hold the control knob if required

Use the ignition button or a long lighter to light the pilot

Keep holding the knob for the recommended time

Release the knob and confirm the pilot stays lit

Turn the control knob to the on position

Use the wall switch, remote, or control panel to start the flames

Adjust the flame height if your model allows it

Turn the fireplace off using the switch, remote, or control knob

Shut off the gas supply if the fireplace will not be used for a long time
