Check the boat’s fuel level and battery power
Turn on the main battery switch
Insert and turn the ignition key or press the start button
Make sure the engine is in neutral
Confirm the kill switch is attached if required
Prime the fuel system if needed
Start the engine
Let the engine idle and check for alarms or warning lights
Verify water is flowing from the cooling outlet
Release dock lines only after the engine is running properly
