Save any open work and close programs
Click the Start menu
Select Power
Hold down the Shift key and click Restart
Wait for the recovery screen to appear
Select Troubleshoot
Select Advanced options
Select Startup Settings
Click Restart
Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode
Press 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking
Press 6 or F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt
