Pour cold milk into a steaming pitcher
Fill the pitcher to just below the spout
Purge the steam wand
Position the steam tip just below the milk surface
Turn on the steam
Introduce air briefly to create foam
Lower the pitcher slightly as the milk expands
Keep the wand angled to create a whirlpool
Heat the milk until the pitcher becomes too hot to hold comfortably
Turn off the steam before removing the wand
Wipe and purge the steam wand immediately
Tap and swirl the pitcher to remove large bubbles
Pour the steamed milk right away
