Take the dog outside frequently, especially after waking, eating, drinking, and playing
Use the same outdoor toilet spot every time
Reward the dog immediately after it wees outside
Supervise the dog closely indoors
Confine the dog when you cannot watch it
Clean accidents thoroughly with an enzymatic cleaner
Avoid punishing the dog after accidents
Watch for signs the dog needs to go and take it out right away
Keep a regular feeding and toilet schedule
Limit access to water only if advised by a vet

Train a clear toilet cue such as “go wee”
