Open McAfee
Go to Settings
Open General Settings and Alerts
Turn off Web Advisor or browser protection features that change search settings
Open your browser settings
Set your preferred search engine as default
Remove McAfee search extensions from the browser
Disable McAfee startup items in Task Manager or Login Items
Check browser shortcuts and remove any added search URLs
Reset browser settings if McAfee keeps changing them
Uninstall McAfee if you do not want it managing browser settings
Restart the computer
Recheck the search engine setting in the browser
