Power off the controller and remove the batteries or battery pack
Remove the battery cover
Peel off the side grips if present
Remove the stickers under the grips if they cover screws
Remove the five security Torx screws from the back shell
Use a plastic pry tool to separate the front and back shells
Lift the back shell off carefully
Disconnect the rumble motor connectors if needed
Remove the center plastic frame
Lift out the buttons, D-pad, and face buttons
Remove the thumbsticks
Remove the triggers by pulling them off their pivots
Remove the bumper assembly
Disconnect the ribbon cable from the main board
Remove the main board screws
Lift out the motherboard
Remove the analog sticks if needed by desoldering them
Reassemble in reverse order
