Wash and dry your hands
Prepare your glucose meter, test strip, and lancet device
Insert a test strip into the meter
Load a new lancet into the lancing device
Choose a fingertip side for the sample
Clean the finger if needed and let it dry
Prick the side of the fingertip
Gently squeeze to get a small drop of blood
Touch the blood drop to the test strip
Wait for the meter to display the result
Record the reading if needed
Dispose of the lancet safely
Remove and discard the used test strip
Wash your hands again
