Gently remove softened crust with saline, not by picking
Avoid twisting, turning, or moving the jewelry
Keep makeup, lotions, and skincare products away from the piercing
Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, lakes, and oceans until healed
Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, ointments, or harsh cleansers
Avoid sleeping on the pierced side
Use a clean pillowcase and change it regularly
Keep hair, phones, and dirty hands away from the area
Do not remove the jewelry during healing unless advised by a professional
Watch for signs of infection such as increasing redness, swelling, heat, pus, or severe pain
Seek medical help if symptoms worsen or you develop fever
Follow your piercer’s aftercare instructions exactly
