Wash and dry your hands
Place the glasses on a clean, soft surface
Identify the frame type
For plastic frames, gently warm the frame with lukewarm water if needed
Locate the lens-retaining groove or screws
If there are screws, use a small screwdriver to loosen them
Support the frame with one hand
Push the lens out from the back side with your thumb or a soft tool
Work slowly and evenly around the lens
Do not force the lens if it resists
For metal frames, remove any screws or wire retainers first
For rimless glasses, loosen the screws at the lens holes
Remove the lens carefully once it is free
Repeat for the other lens if needed
Store the lenses in a safe, clean place
