Remove the interior and exterior trim or stops around the door, if present
Open the sliding panel halfway
Lift the panel up into the top track
Pull the bottom edge out toward you
Lower the panel and remove it from the opening
Remove any screws securing the stationary panel or frame
Take out the fixed panel if the door has one
Remove the head track, side jambs, and threshold screws
Cut any caulk or paint along the frame edges
Pry the frame pieces loose carefully
Remove the remaining frame components from the opening
Clean the opening after the door is fully removed
