Wash and dry your hands thoroughly
Look up and pull your lower eyelid down with your middle finger
Use the pad of your thumb and index finger, not the nail tips
Pinch the contact gently from the lower half of the lens
Slide the lens down onto the white of your eye first
Lift it out with the pads of your fingers
Keep your nails angled away from the eye
Trim or file sharp nail edges before removal
Use a contact lens removal tool if needed
Use lubricating eye drops if the lens feels stuck
Blink a few times to loosen the lens before trying again
Stay calm and avoid pressing directly on the eyeball
