Wash and dry your hands first
Look in a mirror with good lighting
Blink several times and see if your vision feels clear or blurry
Gently pull down your lower eyelid and look for the lens
Gently lift your upper eyelid and look for the lens
Move your eyes left, right, up, and down while looking in the mirror
Check if the lens is centered on the colored part of the eye
Look for a visible edge, outline, or slight shine on the eye
Gently feel for the lens only if your eye is not painful
If the lens is not visible, check whether it may have fallen out
If the eye feels irritated, dry, or scratchy, the lens may still be in the eye
If the lens is stuck under the eyelid and you cannot find it, stop rubbing the eye
If you still cannot tell, remove the other lens if worn and recheck
If pain, redness, or blurred vision continues, seek eye care promptly
