Travel to the Beastmastery area in your home instance or the Heart of the Mists
Equip a ranger or untamed character
Make sure the beast is a juvenile pet or a tameable creature
Find the specific beast you want to tame in the open world
Clear nearby enemies if needed
Enter combat only if required to safely approach
Use the pet-taming interaction when prompted
Complete the taming event or channel without interruption
Wait for the tame to finish
Open the pet management panel
Swap the new beast into an active pet slot
If the beast is not tameable, use the appropriate mastery, achievement, or unlock method for that creature type
