Clean and dry the skin
Bend the knee slightly
Anchor the tape below the kneecap
Wrap one strip around the upper calf
Add a second strip around the lower thigh
Apply a figure-eight pattern around the knee
Cross strips over the front of the knee for support
Keep the kneecap centered and uncovered if needed
Smooth the tape to remove wrinkles
Check that the tape is snug but not too tight
Test for numbness, tingling, or reduced circulation
Remove and retape if discomfort occurs
Use athletic tape or kinesiology tape as appropriate
