Insert a SIM card from a different carrier
Check if the phone connects to the new carrier’s network
Go to Settings
Tap Connections
Tap Mobile networks
Tap Network operators
Turn off Automatic selection
See if multiple carrier networks appear
Check Settings
Tap About phone
Tap Status information
Look for SIM card status or network lock status
Use Samsung Members or device diagnostics if available
Contact your original carrier and ask if the IMEI is unlocked
Check the phone’s IMEI on the carrier’s unlock status page
Dial *#06# to find the IMEI
Review the original purchase receipt or listing for “factory unlocked” wording
