Open the Watch app on your iPhone
Tap General
Tap About
Look for Model Name and Model Number
Check the back of the Apple Watch for the model number
Compare the model number on Apple’s Apple Watch identification page
Open Settings on the Apple Watch
Tap General
Tap About
Check the model information there
If the watch is paired, check the Watch app on iPhone under My Watch
If needed, unpair the watch to view detailed model information during setup
Use the serial number on Apple’s coverage check page to identify the device
Match the watch’s case shape, size, and band compatibility to known Apple Watch models
