Remove the hamburger meat from any packaging
Place the meat on a microwave-safe plate
Use the microwave’s defrost setting or low power
Defrost in short intervals, about 1 to 2 minutes at a time
Flip or rotate the meat between intervals
Separate softened outer portions as they thaw
Stop when the meat is pliable but still cold
Cook the meat immediately after thawing
Wash hands and clean any surfaces that touched the raw meat
