Form a small loop in the standing part of the rope, leaving the working end on top
Pass the working end up through the loop
Wrap the working end around the standing part
Bring the working end back down through the loop
Hold the standing part and pull the working end to tighten the knot
Dress the knot neatly so the loop and knot are snug
