Thread the line through the hook eye
Pull 6 to 8 inches of line through
Form a small loop alongside the hook shank
Wrap the tag end around the standing line 5 to 7 times
Pass the tag end back through the loop near the hook eye
Wet the knot with saliva or water
Pull both the standing line and tag end to tighten
Slide the knot down to the hook eye
Trim the excess tag end close to the knot
