Heat a dry skillet over medium heat
Add pecans in a single layer
Stir frequently for 3–6 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned
Remove immediately and cool
Microwave (quick option): spread pecans on a microwave-safe plate
Microwave on high for 1 minute
Stir and microwave in additional 30-second intervals until fragrant and lightly browned
Cool completely
