How To Track Menstrual Cycle?

Choose a tracking method: mobile app, paper calendar, spreadsheet, or wearable data

Record the first day of bleeding as Day 1

Log start and end dates of each period

Track flow level daily (light/medium/heavy) if desired

Track symptoms daily (cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, headaches, mood changes, fatigue)

Note cervical mucus/ovulation signs daily if desired (dry, sticky, creamy, slippery/watery)

Record basal body temperature if using (take at the same time each morning)

Track ovulation test results if using (positive/negative, dates)

Document any spotting outside the period (date and amount)

Add notes for factors that may affect cycles (stress, travel, illness, medication changes)

Track cycle length: count days from one period start to the next period start

Review patterns monthly (average cycle length, typical period duration, symptom timing)

Set reminders to check for upcoming periods and record daily symptoms

Back up data (cloud sync or photos of paper logs)

If irregularity occurs, continue logging and note when cycles vary significantly
