Back up your old iPhone to iCloud or a computer
Turn on your new iPhone and place it near your old iPhone
Make sure both iPhones are connected to Wi-Fi and have enough battery
Follow the on-screen Quick Start prompt on your old iPhone
Scan the animation on the new iPhone with your old iPhone
Enter your old iPhone passcode on the new iPhone
Set up Face ID or Touch ID on the new iPhone
Choose Transfer from iPhone or Download from iCloud Backup
Keep both iPhones close together until the transfer finishes
Sign in to your Apple ID on the new iPhone
Check that apps, photos, messages, contacts, and settings transferred
If needed, restore from a computer backup using Finder or iTunes
Remove the old iPhone from your Apple ID after confirming everything transferred
