How To Transplant An Orchid?

Choose the right time: after flowering, when new roots or growth begin

Gather supplies: fresh orchid mix, clean pot with drainage, sterilized scissors, and gloves

Water the orchid lightly a day before transplanting

Remove the orchid from its old pot gently

Shake off old medium from the roots

Trim dead, mushy, or black roots with sterilized scissors

Keep healthy firm roots intact

Place fresh orchid mix in the new pot

Position the orchid so the base sits above the medium

Fill around the roots with more orchid mix

Tap the pot lightly to settle the medium

Do not pack the mix tightly

Water lightly after transplanting if needed

Keep the orchid in bright, indirect light

Avoid fertilizing for a few weeks

Monitor for new growth and root recovery
