How to Treat Blister on Bottom of Foot?

Wash your hands

Clean the blister and surrounding skin with mild soap and water

Do not pop the blister if possible

Cover it with a blister bandage or nonstick sterile dressing

Use padding or moleskin to reduce pressure and friction

Keep the area dry and change the dressing daily or if it gets wet or dirty

Wear roomy, comfortable shoes and moisture-wicking socks

Rest the foot and avoid activities that rub the blister

If the blister opens, gently wash it, leave the skin flap in place, apply antibiotic ointment if advised, and re-cover it

Watch for signs of infection such as increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pus, or fever

Seek medical care if the blister is very large, very painful, infected, caused by a burn or chemical, or if you have diabetes or poor circulation
