Open your phone’s Settings
Go to Privacy or Location Services
Find Instagram
Turn Location access off or set it to Never
Open Instagram
Tap your profile picture
Tap the menu icon
Go to Settings and privacy
Tap Account Center if needed
Check any location-related permissions or settings
Disable location sharing options if available
On iPhone, you can also disable Precise Location for Instagram
On Android, you can set Instagram location permission to Deny
If you already added a location to a post, edit the post
Remove the location tag from the post before saving
If you use Stories or Reels, avoid adding location stickers or tags
