Open Settings
Select Device
Select Keyboard
Turn off “Caps Lock” (or “Search key toggles Caps Lock,” depending on your Chromebook model)
If available, enable “Treat Caps Lock as Ctrl” in the Keyboard settings
If you don’t see Caps Lock options in Settings, open Chrome OS Keyboard settings (or Accessibility → Manage accessibility features) and look for Caps Lock/Keyboard remapping options
Restart the Chromebook after changing the setting
