Open Instagram
Go to your Direct Messages
Open the chat with Vanish Mode enabled
Swipe up from the bottom of the chat and release
Tap to turn off Vanish Mode if prompted
If needed, swipe up again to exit Vanish Mode
Close and reopen the chat to confirm Vanish Mode is off
